Little Experiences Impart Great Knowledge

“Botanical Monotype-I” exhibiting along with 10 other MacFarlane originals at Curtis Center for the Arts

Two exhibits to top off the Year! And what a year it has been…but it’s the little things that come to mind once the dust settles. The beautiful yet sometimes challenging big life events often spur on memories of the small and delightful. These small moments that can be shared, felt, seen and spoken have big impact. Embrace these moments and you will find endless reasons to feel blessed.

This is exactly what I found when these little meaningful moments have recently shown up for me in big life events. For example, when celebrating one’s life as they have passed, one’s love through devotion, one’s freedom through good health and one’s comfort from caring for one another.

These experiences impart knowledge and wisdom that are unique and all our own but not without heightened awareness. My heart leans in to notice the little things in life and in nature as well. This is what creates my alliance with my subject matter, wild botanicals. Life is always reflected in my paintings. My work often teaches me to look deeper into my daily devotion with meaning.
